The Mayhem Incident was a serious of diplomatic and military blunders precipitated by '''West Forgotten Isles''' against the '''East Forgotten Isles'''. It culminated in the counter attack codenamed [[Devastation]] and the creation of [[Autarchia]].

The false pretense now clouds your head
It began with a series of Treaty Violations, Natural Disasters and some very ugly diplomatic incidents between the two nations during tense negotiations. Instead of sending aid during the aftermath of the '''East Atlantic Tsunami''', the '''West Forgotten Isles''' instead sank relief ships launched from the southern dock to provide medical assistance to the victims. The West Forgotten Isles began preparations to launch a full scale invasion of the '''East Forgotten Isles''', publicly flaunting this during the negotiations. The two nations already had a treaty to provide assistance during natural disasters, and the '''West Forgotten Isles''' were completely unaffected by the Tsunami as it came from an magnitude 8.6 earthquake northeast of the '''East Forgotten Isles'''.

The situation looks grim to most, as the '''West Forgotten Isles''' Navy is in full swing, loading supplies and troops as the invasion plans proceed full steam ahead. After briefing the [[The General|General]] on the situation, the Dictator flies into a rage, screaming they would pay for their betrayal! He then proceeds to outline an attack on the Island's volcano with his secret weapon, codenamed the eye, opening a fissure deep in the ground, causing the lava below the island to erupt suddenly, violently and in an unexpected direction as this new hole was opened into the chambers below in a very specific angle. Instead of flowing to the north, as would have been expected, lava instead flowed toward the capitol on the Eastern Plains, destroying the seat of government and much of the islands existing industry and cities. The lava flows flowed further and further, until the sea itself glowed between the two islands, creating a land bridge between the two and destroying the small port that was the '''East Forgotten Isles''' main port for commerce to Africa, though the Dictator still had the secret military port on the other side of the island, so traffic just rerouted there for the evacuations, new roads and bridges were erected and moving forward this was the center for commerce for the Americas and Europe..

'''East Forgotten Isles''' annexed the '''West Forgotten Isles''', and officially became the '''Kingdom of Autarchia'''. In a speech shortly after, the Dictator would detail the reasons for the new name, but the primary reason was to acknowledge the changes that had occurred in government, in geography, in the new regional order, and in a new found respect for his nation in the international order. The new nation's resources would be stretched very thin during this time, until his legions could extract the newly acquired natural resources. The burden of the '''East Forgotten Isles''' population would prove to be a test for the new dictatorship, but quick thinking and good luck made these new resources available quicker than anticipated.

The new nation was almost invaded by a coalition of states, in order to rid the world of the new threat. To counter this, the Dictator used the attack to his advantage, instilling fear and promoting the military doctrine known as Devastation through all diplomatic and social channels. After deliberation at the '''The Autarchia Question Summit of 2024''', most nations would not risk facing the ire of the Dictator, knowing even allying with the others would not save their people from his wrath should they not destroy him quickly enough. None knew exactly why the volcano erupted as it did, but the Dictator claimed he bombed the volcano for Autarchia's safety, stating he would do it again in a heartbeat, and could do so again at any time should the need arise. When asked about post-war security, he responded "My eyes are always watching.", When asked what would be his response if the proposed coalition chose to  declare war against Autarchia, he replied with one word "Devastation".

Nobody could understand why that happened, and thusly why the '''East Forgotten Isles''' were the victor in that quick war. Many suspected a new type of weapon was involved as the Dictator alluded to it as much, but solid intelligence on what that might be was nonexistent in even the greatest of nations. It was assumed that the bigger '''West Forgotten Isles''' army and navy would overrun the '''East Forgotten Isles''', but the swift and devastating counterattack left many questions. What happened to the government of '''West Forgotten Isles'''? What hit the volcano? The East Forgotten Isles military was hit by the West that morning, sinking most of its active ships, so what just happened?
